Context:

The project is being developed in the Jericho Governorate in the West Bank, an area with high agricultural and agribusiness potential but characterized by structural and organizational deficiencies that limit the economic and social enhancement of local production. In particular, small date producers and agricultural cooperatives face difficulties in accessing domestic and international markets, hindering sustainable and inclusive economic development.

The purpose of the project:

The initiative aims to strengthen the institutional and territorial system of Jericho Governorate to promote economic inclusion and improve the competitiveness of agribusinesses. The main objectives include enhancing local productions, such as the Medjoul date, improving business support services, and creating training and employment opportunities for youth and women with a sustainable, market-oriented approach.

Activities 

-Training and skills exchange for officials, youth and women, both locally and in Italy.

-Creation of an office for the internationalization of agribusinesses.

-Construction and equipping of a center for training and processing products.

-Participation of producers in international fairs to promote local products.

-Implementation of a strategic plan to enhance the Medjoul date and other typical products.
