Children, war and hidden wounds-Syria

Before the outbreak of the conflict 150,000 Christians lived in Aleppo. Today less than 30 thousand remain. Those who have remained live in extremely harsh conditions, and paying the highest price are especially children, the most vulnerable. Since 2016, together with the Franciscan friars and thanks also to the readers of Famiglia Cristiana, the John Paul II Foundation has been helping families who, after years of war, are still resisting in Aleppo.
We have distributed food, clothes, blankets, basic necessities and medicines, but now it is time to heal the inner wounds of the many children who have known nothing but war. This is why we support the Franciscan Care Center in Aleppo with the goal of welcoming and supporting children who attend psychological rehabilitation centers set up by Franciscan friars to mend their wounds through art, acting and sports.
