PRESS RELEASE: Humanitarian and health emergency in Lebanon: John Paul II Foundation and the International Focolare Movement together

Florence 8/11/2021: The John Paul II Foundation and the International Focolare Movement welcome the appeal of the Beirut Apostolic Vicariate of the Latins.

An economic, health and social situation that has led the entire country into a very deep crisis from which it is difficult to rise again and which only aid from abroad can alleviate. The Foundation and the International Focolare Movement, in this regard, will promote a fundraiser in the coming weeks to purchase powdered milk and provide ongoing support to the Land of the Cedars.

The project also involves sending from Italy essential medicines to enable the most vulnerable people to be treated and continue to comply with their treatment.  

Meanwhile, in collaboration with the UNICOOP FLORENCE, a large first donation of powdered milk, essential food for the children of the weakest segment of the population including the families of Syrian refugees has been arranged

These essential goods will be shipped to Lebanon thanks to an agreement with the Ministry of Defense, which immediately provided its availability in the person of Minister Lorenzo GUERINI.
