The remembrance of the foundation that bears his name
Twenty years have passed since John Paul II left us.
Even today his thought, which inspired this Foundation named after him, challenges us.
In his address to the World Food Summit sponsored by FAO on 10.06.2002, Pope Wojtyla said:
"Today more than ever there is an urgent need for solidarity in international relations to become the guiding criterion for all forms of cooperation, in awareness of the universal destination of the goods that God the Creator has entrusted to us."
And on this the John Paul II Foundation is committed daily in all the places where it is present, from Palestine to Lebanon, from Jordan to Senegal, from Iraq to the projects carried out in Italy.
Because development is not only an economic matter: it is justice, it is peace, it is freedom for everyone. It is a concrete choice for a more humane life.
Our Foundation was born from this vision, called every day to build pathways of liberation and hope in the countries where we operate, alongside the most vulnerable, giving them material support, but above all creating opportunity and a future.
Today more than ever, Pope Wojtyla's teaching spurs us to do more.
To do better. It spurs us to strive for a just future for all.
