In action for your rights! Iraq

Context:

In Iraq, religious minorities, particularly the Christian community, face discrimination and limitations in accessing essential services such as education, employment and social support. The situation is exacerbated by sectarian tensions and political instability, which drive many people to emigrate, putting the survival of these communities in the country at risk.

The purpose of the project:

The project aims to promote the social and economic inclusion of the Christian minority in Iraq, with a focus on youth and people with disabilities. Through vocational training, psycho-social support and human rights awareness, the project aims to strengthen development opportunities and foster peaceful coexistence in the country.

Activities

- Vocational training and job placement pathways for youth and people with disabilities.
- Psycho-social support for vulnerable women and families in Basra.
- Human rights awareness raising in four universities in Baghdad and Basra.
- Promotion of interfaith dialogue through workshops and cultural exchanges.
- Strengthening care networks and women's empowerment programs to promote social inclusion.
