A Palestinian girl walks through the streets of Jerusalem.

A Palestinian girl walks the streets of Jerusalem, known as the holy city for Christianity, Islam and Judaism. In the mural behind her is a drawing featuring Abraham, the father of the three monotheistic religions. Also depicted in the same painting is the Great Mosque of Omar, a holy site for Muslims and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This site witnessed the Second Intifada, a Palestinian uprising that erupted in Jerusalem on Sept. 28, 2000 as a reaction to a visit, deemed provocative by Palestinians, of then Likud leader Ariel Sharon to the Temple Mount, a holy site for Muslims located in the Old City.
