Energies in Connection-Burkina Faso

Context:

In a rural context with severe socio-economic fragilities, characterized by dependence on seasonal and subsistence farming, lack of sustainable agricultural supply chains, lack of a strategic vision for development, and poor accessibility to resources such as electricity and water, the project aims to promote human development through social inclusion, economic prosperity, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

Objective

The project aims to ensure that rural communities increase their capacity to cope with difficult situations related to the environment and economic hardship (causing food insecurity, unemployment and extreme poverty). To do this, it activates a community support system that uses solar energy to improve food security, education and health. It also supports small agribusiness producers to create new job opportunities and access more profitable and well-organized markets.

Activities

-Activation of governance systems for associated management of the agrifood supply chain and control
qualitative.

- Construction of an environmentally sustainable collective center for storage, processing and packaging of agricultural products.

- Organized promotion and marketing of products in local and central markets.

-Contributing access to more profitable markets.
